34. DIFFERENT GRADES OF ADEPTS

            60. In the portion of this book devoted to the correspondence of the microcosm with the macrocosm, we have already explained that communion with the various spheres of creation takes place by means of apertures in the various ganglia and in the brain. A person, who has succeeded in developing the six nervous centres of the physical frame (technically known as Pind), is an adept of the third or the material division of creation. He has not yet crossed the threshold of death, but has traversed the planes of dream, deep slumber, and trance. He is thus acquainted with the entire creation we see, including the subtle conditions. A person, who has reached the first sphere of Brahma or the Universal Mind and has overcome death, is a Yogi. Similarly, adepts who have access to the second and third sphere of Brahma, viz, to Trikuti and Sunna, are Yogesvaras and Sadhs or Mahatmas respectively. Those who have access to the purely spiritual regions beyond Brahmanda (the second division of creation) are Sants (Saints). A Saint, who has reached the highest sphere of the purely spiritual region, the abode of the true Supreme Creator or Prime Origin of Spirituality, is known as Param Sant (Supreme Saint).

  2. Glad to see various definitions of Yogesvaras, Sadhs, Mahatmas, Sants and Param Sants...

    I have a few questions:

Is the book 'Discourses on Radhasoami faith' first to deal with these definitions?

Also, I have a great confusion with the title 'PARAM GURU'. In Guruparampara system, the GURU and His three predecessors are revered with the following titles:

    GURU: The Living MASTER
PARAM GURU: 'Guru' of the 'living master'
PARAATPARA GURU: 'Guru' of the 'PARAM GURU'
PARAMESTHI GURU: 'Guru' of the 'PARAATPARA GURU'

Now, the question is sometimes, we address our master as 'Param Guru Prem Saran Satsangi Sahab'. How far is this correct as per the actual definition of PARAM GURU?

Kindly correct me if I am wrong... Thanks in advance...

  4. @Ravi Kiran Maddali-- Radhasoami Brother..
Only source of knowledge that I have i.e golden words of Our Revered Leaders(written in Pothis) and with my limited understanding I would like to say-- Titles does not matter at all. Param Purush Puran Dhani Soami ji Maharaj was the incarnation of Radhasoami Sahab. And now Soami Ji Maharaj is present in HIS 8th Revered FORM. All those great spirits whose consciousness is of Radhasoami Dham(consciousness of Radhasoami Dayal, in Whom the supreme spiritual current of Soami ji Maharaj resides) are PARAM GURU.There is no difference between Most Revered Huzur MB Lal Sahab and Most Revered P S Satsangi Sahab. Both are two human forms of Radhasoami Sahab(Soami JI Maharaj). They are different in physical appearance but absolutely same internally. Same can be applied for other previous Revered Gracious Sant Satgurus. So , Our guru is always THE Radhasoami Sahab, only with change of Physical appearance(From Huzur MB Lal Sahab to Huzur Satsangi Sahab).
So, Gracious Huzur Satsangi Sahab is PARAM GURU.

Sources:- Bachan of Param Guru Sahab ji Maharaj- 'abhi tak radhasoami dayal ke 4 Avatar huye hai, unme se jive ko jisme priti hogi vahi swaroop aakar rakshha farmayenge'

Bachan of Param Guru Soami Ji maharaj(while leaving his mortal coil) - That huzur will be present with us(jiva) in much more stronger way from now(1878).

And of course Param Guru Maharaj Sahab in the above golden paragraph- A Saint, who has reached the highest sphere of the purely spiritual region, the abode of the true Supreme Creator or Prime Origin of Spirituality, is known as Param Sant (Supreme Saint). (Param sant is Param Guru).

Thanks, Hope you understood and also Sorry if I had made any misconceptions..
    Radhasoami

  5. Mr. Ravi, Answering your first question - Before the advent of Religion of Saints there were Sadhs and Mahatmas only as Hinduism revealed regions till sunn or Akshsar dham only in the region of Brahmand. The Saints revealed regions beyond Brahmand hence Sants and Param Sants came then. Discourses on Radhasoami Faith was written after the advent of Religion of Saints.

  6. Mr. Ravi, as for the second question - you follow what Param Guru Maharaj Sahab has written in Discourses. All those who have reached regions beyond Brahmand that is they have entered the Nirmal Chetan Desh are called Sants. Those who have reached the sixth sub division or the highest region of Nirmal Chetan Desh or Radhasoami Dham are called Param Sants
Sant Satgurus of Radhasoami Faith are all Param Sants as they come from the sixth sub division of Nirmal Chetan Desh i.e from Radhasoami Dham.
For your information Pind, Brahmand and Nirmal Chetan Desh - the three main divisions of Creation have six sub divisions each, corresponding to the 6 Chakras, 6 Kamals and 6 Padams in the human body

  7. Dear Saurabh ji and Satya Ji...thanks a ton for your kind replies. I fully understand the definition of Param sant. I also know that there is absolutely no difference in the past sant satgurus and the waqt guru.

I am just curious about the usage of the word PARAM GURU in ancient Hinduism and the contemporary Santmat...and from our discussion, now, I could see that the usage was different in both these traditions which is a new learning for me.

I have a few more interesting arguments on this topic which I need to compile in a better format for discussion. I request you both to kindly visit the same link next week for more discussion.

I once again thank you for your wise suggestions and discussions. This really helped me a lot...😊

    Regards,

    RK

  8. Satya Bahan, its a scientific discussion in the public domain. Can Sat Purush, Alakh Purush, Agam Purush and Anami Purush be also classified as Akshar Purush? If not, why?
